Day 1: Marrakech – Aguersioual Village – Tizi Oudid Pass 2100m – Azzaden Valley (Red Valley)

After breakfast, your driver will collect you from your accommodation in Marrakech for the scenic journey to the High Atlas Mountains. Drive through Tahnaout, Asni, and Imlil before continuing to the Berber village of Aguersioual (1,650m), where you’ll meet your local mountain guide, mule team, and cook.

Begin your trek by climbing gradually to Tizi Oudid pass (2,100m), enjoying magnificent views over the surrounding valleys and snow-capped peaks. Descend into the beautiful Azzaden Valley, often called the Red Valley because of its striking red mountain slopes, passing walnut groves, terraced fields, and traditional Berber villages.

After a picnic lunch en route, continue to your guesthouse in the heart of the valley.

Day 2: Azzaden Valley – Tizi Mzik Pass (2,489m) – Imlil Valley

Following breakfast, begin a steady ascent through juniper forests toward Tizi Mzik Pass (2,489m), one of the finest viewpoints in the High Atlas Mountains.

From the summit, admire panoramic views across the Imlil Valley, Mount Toubkal, Jbel Aksoual, and the surrounding Berber villages. Continue downhill past the beautiful Azib Tamsoulte area and traditional shepherd shelters before arriving in Imlil (1,740m).

Spend the afternoon relaxing in a comfortable mountain riad with panoramic balconies overlooking the valley and surrounding peaks.

Day 3: Imlil – Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,279m) – Tamatert Village – Imlil

Today is a wonderful circular trek exploring another side of the High Atlas Mountains.

After breakfast, climb through walnut orchards and terraced fields to Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,279m), offering breathtaking views over the Imnane Valley, traditional Berber villages, and the majestic peaks of the Toubkal Massif.

Descend to the peaceful village of Tamatert, where you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery before returning to Imlil via scenic mule trails.

Spend a second relaxing evening in your mountain riad.

Day 4: Imlil – Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m) – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

Travel across the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), enjoying panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains before visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous fortified kasbah.

Continue through Ouarzazate, the Skoura Oasis, and the Valley of Roses before arriving at the magnificent Dades Gorges.

Day 5: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara Desert
